Daily Disruption

"It is so much easier to seek the right trick, the right method, the right technique to give us the level of spirituality we desire at a minimum of cost and with a minimal disruption to the normal flow of life."

Robert Mulholland, Invitation to a Journey

The call to follow Christ into spiritual wholeness is a holy disruption to our normal flow of life. Before we placed faith in Jesus Christ, our normal way of living was broken and faithless.

Look at what Scripture tells us:

"Don't you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don't fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people - none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God." 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (NLT)

Since we have called on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we are spiritually cleansed and made holy by the Holy Spirit. Jesus by the Holy Spirit living in us calls us into deeper spiritual wholeness. This spiritual wholeness cannot come through a trick or method.

We will not reach the spiritual connection with God we desire through just one sermon, the right song, the best job, or the perfect family.

It comes through daily prayer, confession, repentance, thanksgiving, forgiveness, reconciliation with others, and obedience to the teachings of Jesus.

God is building our faith gradually, so let us not bargain our faith in an effort to find the one thing that will propel us into spiritual heights. Let us use each day as an opportunity to grow deeply in obedient faith to God the Father and His Son Jesus through the Holy Spirit.

Take some time to listen to this instrumental prayer music.

As you listen, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you if you are being challenged in your spiritual walk. Ask Him if you are only seeking an easier path to spiritual wholeness that will require a small disruption to your daily life. Also, thank Him for cleansing you from living in a faithless way and inviting you into spiritual wholeness with Christ.
